About Save The Chandlers website…

I am not a family member or someone who wants to gain financially from this site.  This is purely for the purpose of raising money and awareness of the tragic events that are occurring with Paul and Rachel Chandler.   They were taken hostage on October 22, 2009 while sailing their boat to Tanzania.  They are currently being held for ransom.  The money from this effort will be turned over to the family and/or people that can help secure their release.

Question: How can you help?

Answer: GET INVOLVED! Spread the word on Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, or any other social media site you are involved with.  Also, you can donate money.  Consider not going to Starbucks this morning and donate the $3 to help!

Question: How DO I get involved?

Answer: If you are legitimately interested in posting to this site with the SOLE purpose of helping to free the Chandlers, then contact me at [email protected] and I will set up an account for you to contribute.  If you wish, you can remain anonymous.

Question: Who is running this site?

Answer:As stated above, I am not a family member or even a friend of the Chandlers nor was I contacted by them to create this. I also have absolutely no affiliation with the kidnappers. I have purposely left off details of who I am because the focus should be on Paul and Rachel, not me. Understandably, not having a full bio of the maker of this site may make some people uneasy when it comes to donating. However, my goal is to attract people (like me) who understand that there are still good intentions in this world.

Question: How will the money raised be used?

Answer: When the time is right, the correct people will contact me. These will be the people that are working closely with the task of freeing the Chandlers. At such time, I will give them the donated funds so they can use it for the purpose that they see fit surrounding this situation.

Question: Now that the Chandlers have been released, what happened to the donated money from this site?

Answer: Some people have inquired as to what happened to the money now that the Chandlers have been released. While the amount raised was very small in comparison to the amount needed to free them, all the proceeds were given to the correct party to help secure their release.
