Thank you Scott for mantaining this website. We are sailors from Alaska looking to continue our circumnavigation by passing through the Indian Ocean. Much like the Chandlers, we are in a 38 foot boat, sold the house, are 65 and 58 years old, have limited funds, but hope we have the courage to complete our facinating journey which is challenging even without the pirates. We used your website to follow the coverage of the kidnapping and used the information to think about our own planning needed to cross that body of water safely. Forearmed is forewarned.

I am very happy for the couple that they are free now.Am was in the hands of Somali pirates for 88 days,(300 days less) let me tell you that it was very tuf.

In a previous comment I had said that I just knew they’d be released, and discovered Sunday night listening to the radio that they had! I couldn’t help but cry! I’m so extremely happy and thankful to the Lord for protecting this dear couple. How they were able to survive and still smile and be in positive spirits is only by the grace of God.

Welcome back home to Kent when you return! May your strength be a testament to the rest of us when we’re going through tough times.

congratulations to all parties concerned . lessons will be learned from the last 388 days of worry and mistakes . hopefully these lessons will be remembered and the mistakes will be examined and lessons learned for all to learn from. to paul and rachel enjoy your freedom now when the excitement runs. this will be another challenge when most help is needed. its over for the waiting concerned public but only beginning for the family.
